A guide number of 20, beam angle 105º ×95º without diffuser, circular 110º light distribution with a diffuser, digital camera compatible high-precision S-TTL Auto and 12-step Manual modes, rich and basic performance is housed in an ultra-compact body to ensure excellent portability.
Marginal downsized with high performance
6 4mm x 83.1mm x 106.5 mm (W x H x D). Successfully designed the world's smallest body size as a 4AA-powered underwater flash (*1) with optimised internal component layout and reduction of unnecessary space. Best suited with a compact digital camera with its portability, incredibly compact size even as a dual flash and high performance to support a digital SLR camera. The S-2000 underwater flash completely changes lighting concepts.
(*1) As of March 2009 among 4AA-powered underwater TTL flash units (data from INON INC.).
Not only compact
The Inon S-2000 underwater flash is powered by 4x AA batteries to ensure the basic functions of the flash, although operation with 4x AA batteries is opposed to downsizing. The same level of basic performance including Guide No. 20 (*2), minimum recycling time 1.5 sec. (*3) and durability as the upper model are operated with its compact housing. In addition to the reliable and super-accurate S-TTL auto mode, the 12-step manual mode is equipped to support professional use. Other features include the EV. Controller for fine-tuning when shooting in S-TTL auto mode and the automatic switching function to adapt to different pre-flash modes (single or double pre-flash) of the digital camera are also integrated.
(*2) Measurement in air /ISO100?m, nominal value
(*3) When using "eneloop" or other compatible NiMH batteries.
Integrated wireless TTL capability
The S-2000 underwater flash has a high-sensitivity slave sensor that is 100 times more sensitive than the slave sensor of the D-2000 Type 3 flash and successfully enables support for S-TTL wireless auto flash without the use of a D optical cable. The sensitivity of the slave sensor also dramatically extends the sync range of manual flash operation. The package includes a Wireless Connection Kit that optimises the built-in flash light reception on the slave sensor. Wireless S-TTL auto flash is easy to use by simply attaching the flash to a compatible underwater housing via the INON connection kit or the D4 handle base. You can photograph a vivid underwater world with a powerful external flash holding a rig with one hand. Using the D-cable optical connector ensures more reliable flash sync in challenging conditions with bright ambient light such as just below the surface.
Unlimited expandability with optical cable system
The S-2000 underwater flash from Inon is equipped with a plug holder on the front to receive the flash's TTL signal. An S-2000 flash unit can be connected to a maximum of two flash units via optical cables and operate them in [S-TTL Auto mode]. This optical cable system offers the advantage that you can easily supplement the [S-TTL Auto] flash mode by connecting an optical cable to receive the S-TTL control signal from your camera system. This expansion option makes an underwater studio with perfect lighting feasible.
Natural colour even with a diffuser
The beam angle without diffuser is 105º x95º, which increases to a circular 110º with the supplied -0.5 white diffuser for S-2000. The diffuser is made of specially manufactured material so as not to change the colour of the flash light, where the colour temperature of the flash light only drops by 100K (Kelvin). You can have the same colour tone between macro shots without the diffuser and wide angle shots with the diffuser to widen the flash beam angle.
