The NA-Z8 is the ultimate accessory for the powerful Nikon Z8.

THE NIKON Z8

The excitement for the Nikon Z8 rivals that of the release of the Nikon D850. Nikon shooters have been eagerly waiting for what this "mini" Z9. The D850 long ruled the Nikon roost for incredible image quality, amazing autofocus and a wide dynamic range all in a high-resolution package.  While the Z6/7 and Z9 have bracketed the spectrum of specs, the Z8 is the system that many D850 shooters have been waiting for.

The Nikon Z8 features a 45.7MP stacked CMOS sensor that is delivers incredible still and moving image performance.  The Z8's electronic shutter means true zero blackout continuous shooting when using the camera's EVF and the wide range of autofocus options insure there's the right mode for every situation.

For video shooters, the Z8 can capture up to 8K/60p or oversampled 4K/120p internally in their ultra-efficient 12-bit N-RAW format or a variety of ProRes formats including ProRes RAW.  The Z8 also adds pro-level video features such as a waveform monitor, focus peaking, and the ability to fine tune ISO at 1/6EV steps.  There's also a convenient 'Video Info Display' and Red Record Border.

THE NAUTICAM NA-Z8 Underwater Housing

The Nauticam NA-Z8 is the most intuitive and reliable underwater housing available for the Nikon Z8.  Building on the successful and field-tested designs for the NA-Z6/7 and Z9 housings the NA-Z8 embodies Nauticam's Mission Control design philosophy placing essential controls within easy reach of the reinforced molded handles.

F AND Z MOUNT COMPATIBLE

The NA-Z8 underwater housing for the Nikon Z8 utilizes the N120 Port System for Z-mount full-frame lenses. However, the NA-Z8 is also designed to accommodate the use of F-mount lenses, thanks to the FTZ adapter. This allows the same port configuration as found on an F-mount DSLR system like the NA-D6 or NA-D850.

The NA-Z8 housing is equipped with convenient lens release buttons for both F and Z mounts, making lens changes a breeze, regardless of the lens platform. You can quickly and easily switch between different lenses without having to remove the camera from the housing, except when installing or removing the FTZ adapter.

ENHANCED VIEWFINDERS

Electronic viewfinders are constantly achieving higher resolution and better dynamic range and the Z8 features a 3690k-dot OLED 0.5" viewfinder.  Pair the Z8's EVF with Nauticam's Full Frame Enhanced Viewfinders for unrestricted viewing of the entire EVF in either a straight or angled configuration.  The added working distance from the back of the housing makes for a more comfortable and natural position underwater.  Edge to edge visibility and a dioptric adjustment make for easier composition and tack-sharp focus.

PREMIUM PROFESSIONAL OPTICS

Nauticam's lineup of optics insure the sharpest, most natural looking images underwater whether it's super-macro or wide-angle.  The WACP-1 Wide Angle Conversion Lens works flawlessly with the Nikkor Z 28-75mm f/2.8 lens to deliver an impressive 130º field-of-view at 28mm and 83º at 48mm.  A ~0" minimum focus distance and small front element makes composition and lighting even easier. Those looking for a more compact system can use the new WACP-C with the Sony SEL2870 28-70mm f3.5-5.6 OSS lens plus the Megadap ETZ 21 adapter which delivers full zoom through and a 130º to 59º field-of-view.

Want greater than 1:1 magnification with unmatched sharpness?  The SMC-1 and SMC-2 provide 2.2x and 3.6x magnification respectively with the Nikkor Z MC 105mm f/2.8 VR S Macro lens and can be easily mounted with the Nauticam flips system allowing for fast deployment as well as secure and accurate placement of the optic.

HDMI OUTPUT

The Nikon Z8 promises clean full-resolution HDMI output using an HDMI type A connector and the NA-Z8 features an M24 bulkhead that can accommodate an HDMI 2.0 connection to a monitor/recorder such as the Atomos Ninja5+ in the NA-Ninja5 housing.

INTEGRATED VACUUM CHECK AND LEAK DETECTION SYSTEM

The Nauticam vacuum check and leak detection system is shipped with NA-Z8 as standard equipment. Combined with an accessory vacuum valve (NA25624), this monitoring system provides constant updates on the water tight and safe-to-dive status of the housing. A simple color coded LED lighting system lets the user know that the vacuum is solid, or that the housing is losing vacuum. Leak detection is built into the same circuit, so if there is water intrusion, an audible and visual indication will occur. The Nauticam system is temperature compensated, eliminating false alarms caused by a change in outside temperature, or from a camera heating up on an action packed dive.

M14 Vacuum Valve II
Installing vacuum valve to housing Remove the plug of the M14 accessory port from the housing. Remove the cap from the vacuum valve. Tighten the vacuum valve to the housing with the tool provided. Building up vacuum Remove the cap of the vacuum valve. Connect the hand pump to the valve and pump several times until it reaches the target vacuum level. The LED light will turn flashing yellow while vacuum is building up, then steady green when the target vacuum level is reached. Attention: After the target vacuum is reached, i.e. steady green light, attach the cap back to the vacuum valve. It is recommended to leave the housing for at least 20mins to ensure it is sealed. If the LED light changes from steady green light to rapidly flashing yellow light, that means there is a leakage and please check every O-ring and conduct the vacuum test again. Please ensure that the cap is attached back to the vacuum valve before going underwater. Vacuum can be released by pushing the red release button. Attention: Please DO NOT attempt to go over the designated vacuum level, i.e. stop pumping when the LED turn green. Excessive vacuum level may lead to the malfunction of the camera and lens. Note: Although the vacuum indicator is designated to compensate for a certain amount of temperature variation, it is recommended to conduct the vacuum test in an environment where the temperature is stable. After set up, the meaning of the LED indicator in the housing: Flashing “Blue” light: Standby mode. The moisture alarm is active, and the system is ready for vacuum indication whenever a vacuum is detected. Flashing “Red” light with beeping sound:Moisture is detected. Full Frame Angle Viewinder 32°/ 1:1
The next generation Nauticam Full Angle Straight Viewfinder is the perfect addition to your housing as it provides a bright, clear and undistorted 1:1 image of the camera’s viewfinder and is essential for precise focusing and artistic composition.  This viewfinder is also available in an 0.8:1 version that can also accommodate viewing of the entire image field on cameras with larger EVFs such as the Sony A1. The Full Frame Angle Viewfinder also provides more clearance for your regulator allowing for more a more comfortable viewing position, installs in seconds without tools and retains the hassle-free underwater dioptric adjustment feature. The viewfinder can also be rotated when using the camera in a portrait orientation. INTRODUCING NAUTICAM FULL FRAME ANGLE VIEWFINDER 32°/ 1:1 For over a decade, Nauticam’s Enhanced Viewfinders have been known for superior optics, tack sharp performance and first-of-its-kind underwater dioptric adjustment. Anyone who has used these instruments has grown to appreciate what an asset they can be to any underwater photographer. But the camera world has seen radical changes in technology in the last ten years, including ever increasing size and resolution of Electronic Viewfinders (EVFs) found in the latest high-end mirrorless cameras. These newer EVFs challenge even the finest enhanced viewfinders for underwater housings. In response to this technological evolution, Nauticam is excited to introduce the next generation of Enhanced Viewfinders designed to meet and exceed the requirements of all the current digital camera EVFs, as well as what is expected in the near future. The new Full Frame Straight Viewfinder employs entirely new optics to allow distortion free viewing without clipping the image frame. With the new viewfinders, reviewing images in playback or navigating the menus through the EVF has never been so easy. 32º/1:1 VS. 42º/0.8:1 Because different photographers have different needs and priorities, Nauticam offers the Full Frame Angle Viewfinder in two options. The 1:1 viewfinder option offers the most magnification available for underwater viewing while preserving the image field and surrounding data on most cameras. This viewfinder is a breakthrough in performance on high resolution EVFs and is an absolute joy on traditional DSLRs. The level of detail rendered is unequaled in the industry. For those utilizing cameras with known EVF challenges such as the Sony’s A1 and A7SIII cameras, or just for the photographer who wants as much working room on the viewfinder field-of-view as possible, Nauticam offers the new 0.8:1 version. The 0.8:1 viewfinder offers an equally crisp and bright EVF display as the 1:1 viewfinder, with slightly less magnification for uncompromising corner to corner image viewing or better imaging of shooting data. HASSLE-FREE UNDERWATER DIOPTRIC ADJUSTMENT The much-loved dioptric adjustment is still featured and allows for easy eyesight adjustment in-water without disassembly of the viewfinder.  as well as the simple installation and removal that takes only seconds. TOOL FREE INSTALLATION The Nauticam Full Frame Angle Viewfinder can be installed in seconds without any tools.  The viewfinder is a direct replacement of the stock 0.66X viewfinder on DSLR and many full-frame mirrorless housings but requires an easily installed adapter on certain MIL housings. The viewfinder can also be rotated when using the camera in a portrait orientation. Whether future proofing a viewfinder purchase for your current rig, or patiently waiting for a viewfinder worthy of the latest pro mirrorless camera you are diving, these cutting-edge viewfinders are the new industry standard to be looking at. <iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube-nocookie.com/embed/1AeT-02Mrdo?controls=0" title="YouTube video player" frameborder="0" allow="accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share" allowfullscreen></iframe>

0.36x Wide Angle Conversion Port Compact (WACP-C) by Nauticam
The WACP-1 and WACP-2 have raised the bar on what is possible in underwater optics. They offer the maximum in image quality with the widest angle of view available in a rectilinear lens.  Nauticam is now excited to release the next iteration of WACP, the WACP-C.  The Wide Angle Conversion Port Compact (WACP-C) is a fraction of the weight and size when compared to the WACP-1 and WACP-2.  When looking at volume, the WACP-C is approximately 37% smaller than WACP-1 and 75% smaller than WACP-2.  NAUTICAM WIDE ANGLE CONVERSION PORT COMPACT (WACP-C) Like the WACP-1 and WACP-2, the WACP-C is a dry mount lens design, functioning as both a port and optical lens. It is optimized to work with professional camera lenses up to a full-frame equivalent focal length of 28mm and offers an amazing 130° angle of view.  The WACP-C can focus as close as the front element and captures images with minimal distortion. A wide variety of lenses are supported, both primes and zooms for a variety of cameras. Please check the WACP-C PORT CHART for supported lenses and suggested configurations as some lenses will require extension rings or adapters. This image from Alex Mustard was shot with the Nikon 28-70mm f/3.5-4.5D and WACP-C.  Similar to WACP-1, the WACP-C greatly improves the overall image sharpness.  The WACP-C will provide approximately 3 f-stops of increased corner sharpness when compared to traditional wide rectilinear lenses with a similar field of view behind a dome port.  This means being able to achieve about the same corner sharpness with WACP-C at f/5.6 that you could achieve with your rectilinear lens behind a dome port a f/16.  As a point of comparison, WACP-1 provides approximately 4 f-stops of increased corner sharpness This image from Alex Mustard was shot with the Nikon 28-70mm f/3.5-4.5D and WACP-C The WACP-C's zoom-through capability means the underwater filmmaker or photographer can capture astonishing wide, medium and close-up shots all with one lens while maintaining optimum optical and close-focus performance. Take for instance the Sony 28-60mm f/4-5.6 lens which receives a field-of-view range of 69º to 130º with the WACP-C. This lens allows for acquisition of more dynamic content on each and every dive without the need for a second camera. This image from Alex Mustard was shot with the Nikon 28-70mm f/3.5-4.5D and WACP-C

Super Macro Konverter SMC-1
THE FINEST MACRO ACCESSORY LENS FOR DSLR/MIL CAMERAS The Nauticam Super Macro Converter 1 (SMC-1) is the first underwater macro conversion lens that is fully optimized for in water use. This unique and innovative lens will change the way that underwater macro photography is done. BREAKTHROUGH LENS DESIGN Prior to the Super Macro Converter, achieving "super macro" underwater meant using tools that were designed for in air use. These tools simply do not take into account the physics of shooting in water. The SMC takes a radically different approach: treat the system ? camera, lens, port, air, and water ? as a whole, and account for the air-water interfaces in a conversion lens design to achieve the best image quality possible. The improvement is stunning, measurable and a new standard in underwater macro imaging has been established. "This is the sharpest accessory macro lens I have used. Something that it is truly remarkable because it is also the most powerful. Fantastic performance from the centre of the frame to the corners. It is a lens that pushes back the boundaries of the types of photos we can take underwater." -Dr. Alex Mustard (www.amustard.com) Three key advantages to this internationally patent pending new optical design: Higher Magnification Than Other Popular Super Macro Tools with Increased Working Distance Better Edge to Edge Image Quality, Higher Contrast, and Lower Color Fringing Compatibility with "short" macro lenses that traditionally have not worked well with super macro accessories, like Canon EF-S 60mm, Panasonic Leica DG Macro-Elmarit 45mm f/2.8 ASPH. MEGA O.I.S., Olympus 12-50mm f/3.5-6.3 ED M.Zuiko EZ Micro 4/3 Lens, and Olympus M.ZUIKO DIGITAL ED 60mm f/2.8 Macro. Edward Lai, Managing Director of Nauticam, has utilized a revolutionary approach in developing the SMC. This is a completely new lens design, developed through hundreds of engineering hours utilizing computer software to model the optical properties of the complete underwater imaging system. Incorporating these factors into the design yields amazing sharpness, contrast, and clarity that isn't available from a simple magnifying lens for use in air sealed in a waterproof enclosure. UNCOMPROMISED OPTICAL QUALITY The Super Macro Converter is constructed from lenses are precision crafted of specially formulated low dispersion optical grade glass, ground to the most demanding standards. These exceptional measures, enhanced by broadband anti-refective coatings effectively reduce common optical issues such as chromatic aberrations, coma, spherical aberration, and field deformation associated with underwater macro photography using traditional magnifying lenses. These optics are assembled in a rugged hard anodized aluminum housing, and nitrogen purged during assembly to eliminate fogging. STUNNING MAGNIFICATION When combined with a full frame camera and a 100mm or 105mm macro lens, the device converts the optical system to provide a maximum of 2.3X magnification factor. In other words, a subject area of 15.6mm X 10.4mm will fill the whole frame of a 36mm X 24mm sensor. IMPROVED SHARPNESS AND CONTRAST As the Super Macro Converter is optimized explicitly for using together with a macro lens underwater, images captured exhibit exceptional sharpness compared with conventional magnification lenses. Thanks to the broadband multi-layer anti-reflection coating on each surface of the lenses, images also exhibit higher contrast. SUPERB LIGHT TRANSMISSION All the lens elements installed inside the SMC are optically optimized to appropriate diameters so as to provide maximum light transmission. The SMC doesn't suffer from vignette issues under even the most extreme conditions. The broad band multi-layer anti-reflection coating on all surfaces also greatly improves light transmission. OPTIMIZED FOR AUTOFOCUS By utilizing a specially developed algorithm in the optimization process, the SMC renders superior image quality over the full focusing range of the camera lens (which becomes ~50 to ~100 mm in front of the SMC). Also benefitting from the high brightness and contrast of the image, the autofocus system of the camera usually works acceptably well within this range. AMPLE WORKING DISTANCE Even at the maximum 2.3X magnification, there is still more than 50mm of working distance between the front element and the subject with 100/105mm macro lenses. This working distance is crucial when capturing behavior with skittish subjects. RESOLUTION High resolution was a primary design goal of the SMC project. This has been achieved using computer aided optimization and high grade optical glasses with unique refractive and dispersion properties. Images taken with this new system exhibit very high resolution and quality. Results have exceeded expectations, and these images rival the quality of the macro lens in air. SMOOTH BOKEH The Converter retains the optical properties of the macro lens for the whole system underwater, resulting in a blurred (out of focus) background that has a pleasing smoothness and creamy look, without the normal purple and green fringing. AVOIDING DIFFRACTION Due to the overall superior optical performance of the SMC it is possible to shoot larger apertures with excellent image quality. This avoids reaching the diffraction limit of high resolution sensors, and allows selective focus effects with narrow depth of field in super macro images.

eMWL Set II for Canon 100 and APS-C 60
Nauticam's new eMWL (Extended Macro Wide Lens) is built to work with several popular macro lenses and is optimised for both still images and video. It is a wet lens design, so the lens can be attached and removed underwater. This increases the versatility of the whole system, and other accessories such as SMC and CMC macro converters can also be used.   The eMWL as a modular system The eMWL has been developed as a modular design with three individual parts: the focusing unit, the relay module and the lens. Nauticam has developed components optimised to work with different camera manufacturers and their macro lenses, as well as a selection for three unique perspectives. Let's take a look at the individual parts and dive a little deeper into the eMWL. The complete eMWL system Objective lenses, 60°, 100°, 130° - Relay lens - Focusing unit eMWL focusing unit To ensure the best results on a range of cameras, three focusing units have been developed and each unit is optically matched to the recommended prime lenses. The eMWL is very sharp and has very good contrast, and the autofocus works very well.  This is a significant advantage compared to other relay lenses available. You also have the option of adding a manual focus gear. You can also use lens adapters like the Nikon FTZ, EF to EOS R or the Sigma MC-21. The focusing unit is the part closest to your mount, it is designed with 6 glass elements in 3 groups and is connected via the bayonet lock system.  Focusing unit (NA87202) for Canon Compatible lenses: Canon EF 100mm f/2.8L Macro IS USM Canon EF-S 60mm f2.8 Macro USM for APS-C    Nikon D850, Nikon 105mm  Macro, Nauticam eMWL 100°, 1/200 sec, f/20, ISO 320  eMWL relay unit The next element to be attached to the front of the focusing unit is the relay lens. It has been designed to the highest standard with 14 glass elements in 10 groups. The eMWL objective lenses create an inverted image so that it appears upside down. The relay lens corrects the inverted image and returns the image to the focusing unit and sensor. It is 150 mm long and only 62 mm wide at its widest point. This allows the front of the eMWL to be placed extremely close to your subject while keeping the bulk of the camera system and the photographer at a greater distance. It also opens up creative ways for videographers to capture motion shots in tight spaces. Imagine poking through seaweed to expose a young batfish, or pulling back from a small object to show the nook where it lives. All three focusing units use the same relay lens. It is possible to use the eMWL without the relay lens if you do not need the extended working distance. But then a camera or monitor that can correct the inverted image in the electronic viewfinder or screen is an advantage. eMWL lenses The last link, which is attached to the front of the relay lens, is the objective lens. There are three different versions with different angles of view. You choose one of the three versions depending on the look, the subject or the type of image you want to create. These, as well as the other two parts, can all be assembled and disassembled under water. You can keep all three lenses with you and replace them when you need to. You can shoot them just like any other lens, but the real magic happens when you get really close to your subject. All three lenses focus as close as the front element with the right setting. You could fill most of the frame with a nudibranch and still have room for a diver in the background! The eMWL is a great tool to enhance your creativity. 130° lens (NA87223) This is the widest of the three objective lenses, designed with 9 elements in 7 groups. It's perfect for larger macro subjects or any image where you want to see more of the background. The image quality is on par with the best wide-angle lenses, so you can also use it for traditional wide-angle shots.  100° lens (NA87222) This is an extremely versatile viewing angle. It is the smallest and slimmest in physical size, making it a good choice for shy subjects and tight spaces. It is designed with 9 elements in 6 groups. An angle of view of 100° is still plenty of room in the background for small macro subjects or for wide angle shots. For comparison, a 16mm lens on FF is 107°.  60° lens (NA87221) For a narrower angle of view or if you want the background elements to look more compressed, the 60° lens is the perfect choice. It is designed with 9 elements in 6 groups. There are three focus ranges that can be set on the lens: 00-55mm, 55-25mm and 25-0mm. I would suggest setting it to 00-55mm and adjusting to one of the closer settings when working extremely close to a subject. The close-up setting works similar to a tube by moving the lens further away from the sensor.   Bayonet connection The EMWL uses the Nauticam bayonet mounting system. You can easily attach or remove the EMWL to shoot with just the macro lens or add other accessories. You need to attach the appropriate bayonet converter to the front of your mount. If you want to use a super macro (SMC-1 or SMC-2) or compact macro converter (CMC-1 or CMC-2), these can be attached with an optional bayonet adapter. M67 bayonet converter II for Nauticam 67 mm threaded connections (NA83250)  M77 bayonet converter II for Nauticam 77 mm threaded connections (NA83251)  Bayonet adapter for SMC and CMC (NA83214) Quelle: Nauticam

The Ninja V is easily mounted in the housing, dropping in without trays or other mounting accessories and is held in place by two rotating locking levers. The Ninja V features both an HDMI 2.0 input as well as an output and the NA-Ninja V supports both as well. With dual M28 bulkheads, a second HDMI cable can be run to another monitor. The Ninja V allows for the application of. cube format 3D LUTs to this output signal. The NA-Ninja V supports up to the NP-F970 size battery which provides up to two hours of run time. A CR-2032 battery powers the vacuum check and leak detection system. When used with the included Vacuum Valve, the system gives real-time feedback about the watertight integrity of the housing through an easily visible multi-color LED on the top of the housing. Access to the touchscreen controls of the Ninja V are handled via a series of buttons and a selector knob beneath the screen of the housing including PLAY, REC, MON, RGB, PEAK and the Muti-Selector Lever.
