Sony A7R III and A7III Underwater Housing by Nauticam
Sony, pioneers of the full-frame mirrorless camera with their A7 line have brought us their latest iteration and it is awesome. Taking cues from the just-released A9 the A7RIII adds better autofocus, faster continuous shooting, and the still-awesome 5-axis stabilization rated at an amazing 5.5 stops. 4K is recorded from downsampled 5K using the full sensor width or the Super 35 crop mode is also available for a little in-camera zoom. THE SONY ALPHA A7R III The Sony a7R III is the company's latest high-resolution full frame mirrorless camera. Much like Nikon's recent D850, it's one that combines resolution with high speed and fast autofocus capabilities to a degree we've not previously seen. The Sony a7R III achieved an overall DxOMark sensor score of 100 points, the same as the Nikon D850. This makes it the highest-scoring mirrorless system camera to date, beating the A7R II by two points. The a7R III is built around it's 42MP BSI CMOS sensor and can shoot up to ten frames per second. 4K footage can be captured either from the full width of the sensor or from a Super 35 size crop. The camera can also shoot 1080p video at up to 120p and has a function to conform this footage back down to 24 or 30p, if you want out-of-camera slow-mo. These functions are also available from both the full width of the sensor or from the cropped region. 5-axis image stabilization ('Steadyshot') is available in all modes. The a7R III inherits many of the lessons learned from the company's pro-sports model, the a9. This means faster processing, improved autofocus, improved handling and ergonomics, as well as the adoption of a much larger battery! Sony Alpha a7RIII Key Camera Specifications 42MP BSI CMOS sensor Faster, lower-noise image processing 10 fps shooting with full AF, 8 fps with 'live' updates between shots 3.69M dot (1280 x 960 pixel) OLED viewfinder Improved autofocus, including more tenacious Eye AF mode 5-axis image stabilization, rated at 5.5 stops (CIPA) with 50mm lens 4K footage from 'Super 35' crop region oversampled from 5K capture Video AF less inclined to refocus to background 'Picture Profile' video gamma/gamut modes including S-Log2 and 3 Twin SD Card slots (one UHS-I and one UHS-II compatible) Bayer-cancelling multi-shot mode for improved resolution True 14 bit uncompressed Raw, even in continuous drive mode Use of phase detection (including Eye AF) at 3 fps with adapted lenses THE SONY ALPHA A7 III CAMERA A full frame mirrorless 24.2 MP sensor that offers 14 bit RAW imaging at 10 fps. The sensor itself is 5-axis stabilized and features 693 phase-detection AF points covering 93% of the image area in addition to 425 contrast-detection points. The A7 III is able to capture UHD 4K at 30p and 100 Mbit/s and includes Hybrid Log Gamma as well as Sony S-Log. Sony Alpha A7III Key Camera Specifications: 24.2MP Full Frame CMOS Sensor Full-frame or Super 35 readout 4K UHD recording at up to 30p S-Log 2/3 and Hybrid Log Gamma recording In-body 5-axis image stabilization with 5-stop compensation NAUTICAM NA-A7RIII UNDERWATER HOUSING A professional housing befitting of a top-of-the-line camera, the NA-A7RIII underwater housing provides fingertip access to all key camera controls in a rugged and reliable aluminum underwater housing. Ergonomic camera control access is one of the defining strengths of a Nauticam housing, and the NA-7RIII continues this tradition. Essential camera parameter changes are made from the handles, without awkward reaches. The NA-A7RIII housing inherits the core design elements from the Nauticam pro DSLR range, and bundles them in a more compact package. A patented port locking lever allows lens changes to be made in seconds. Opening the housing for quick battery and media changes is fast and easy with the locking housing latches. All aspects of the system are a seamless extension of the camera. The NA-A7RIII is equipped with two M16 and one M14 bulkhead. This allows for the addition of a variety of bulkhead accessories such as a Vacuum Valve, electronic flash triggering bulkhead, and even HDMI Bulkheads for video. With "clean" 4K 4:2:2 HDMI output, pairing the NA-A7RIII with an external recorder from Atomos will enhance the incredible video capabilities of this camera even more. 4K is created from oversampled 5K when recording in-camera to UHS-II cards giving extremely high quality internal recording as well. Vacuum Check and Leak Detection System The Nauticam vacuum check and leak detection system is shipped with NA-A7RIII as standard equipment. With the addition of the optional M14 Vacuum Valve (NA25624) this monitoring system provides constant updates on the water tight and safe-to-dive status of the housing. A simple color coded LED lighting system lets the user know that the vacuum is solid, or that the housing is losing vacuum. Leak detection is built into the same circuit, so if there is water intrusion, an audible and visual indication will occur. The Nauticam system is temperature compensated, eliminating false alarms caused by a change in outside temperature, or from a camera heating up on an action packed dive.

Sony A9II/A7RIV Underwater Housing by Nauticam
Sony has been at the forefront of the mirrorless evolution, offering cameras with specifications that are truly geared towards meeting the disparate needs of today's image makers while maintaining a similar, if not almost identical form factor. With the a7R IV, Sony introduced the highest resolution full frame mirrorless camera to date and with the a9 II it took speed image quality to another level. Luckily, for those wishing to take their cameras underwater, the a7R IV and the a9 II have extremely similar body size and control placement. For this reason, Nauticam is offering the NA-a2020 housing that offer full support for both cameras in the same housing without modification. THE SONY A7R IV AND SONY A9 II CAMERAS While both the a7R IV and the a9 II feature the same size sensor and body, they are two very different cameras. With the NA-a2020 Underwater Housing, you now can choose the right camera for the job while using the same housing, lenses and ports. Both cameras share 5-axis in-body stabilization (IBIS) providing up to 5.5 stops of stabilization and the ability to record 4K video either from the full sensor width or a Super35 crop at up to 30p to dual UHS-II SD card slots. Both cameras are capable of clean HDMI video output up to UHD 4K 4:2:2 8-bit at up to 25p. THE SONY A7R IV CAMERA The Sony a7R IV is the company's fourth generation, high-resolution full-frame mirrorless camera. The 61.0-megapixel full-frame Exmor R CMOS sensor combined with BIONZ X imaging engine delivers unprecedented resolution, fine gradation, and low noise. Relative to previous generations, it promises more robust build quality, refined controls, the company's latest autofocus. The a7R IV also received a serious upgrade from a7R III to its electronic viewfinder (EVF) in a 1.6x bump in resolution to an impressive 5.76-million-dots of UXGA OLED display, the highest of any mirrorless full-frame camera. Sony Alpha a7R IV Key Specifications 61MP BSI CMOS full-frame sensor Fast Hybrid AF with tracking 10 fps burst shooting (12-bit Raw mode) with AF Tracking 5.76M dot OLED viewfinder 4K video from full sensor width (sub-sampled) or oversampled from Super35 crop S-Log 2, S-Log 3 and 'HLG' video modes (8-bit only) THE SONY A9 II CAMERA The a9 II is the flagship full-frame mirrorless camera in Sony's lineup and features a 24.2MP Exmor RS BSI CMOS sensor. The original a9 set the bar for high speed shooting with an incredible 20fps without EVF blackout, a trait passed on to the a9 II. It's 693 phase-detection pints cover over 93% of the sensor's surface which, combined with the BIONZ X processor leads to fast and accurate autofocus, even while tracking. Placing only 24.2 megapixels on the sensor, the a9 II prioritizes dynamic range and excellent low-light sensitivity over resolution. Sony Alpha a9 II Key Specifications 24.2MP BSI CMOS full-frame sensor 20fps continuous shooting without EVF blackout Fast Hybrid AF with Tracking 3.69M dot OLED viewfinder 4K video from full sensor width (sub-sampled) or oversampled from Super35 crop THE NAUTICAM NA-?2020 UNDERWATER HOUSING Nauticam has supported the Sony Alpha full-frame line since the original a7 with professional grade aluminum housings that offer intuitive access to all the controls and functions of the cameras. Sony FX3/FX30 Underwater housing by Nauticam
Looking at the specs, the Sony FX3 is strikingly similar to the A7S III less an electronic viewfinder.  Take a closer look and its the powerful video features of the A7S III with cinema-centric controls and exterior design.  The FX3 can capture 4K at up to 120fps with 15+ stops of dynamic range with the option for RAW over HDMI.  Controls are optimized for video with direct iris, ISO and shutter angle control.  With the addition of an internal fan, the recording time limit for 4K60p has been removed.  The NA-FX3's compact size make it ideal for the traveling filmmaker and those looking for a more nimble underwater System. THE SONY ALPHA FX3 CINEMA LINE FULL-FRAME CAMERA Compact cinema cameras are increasingly a popular choice for underwater film making and Sony's FX3 brings the powerful capabilities of the A7S III full-frame mirrorless camera to the form factor.  The FX3 is built around the same sensor as the A7S III that allows for capture of up to 4K 120p 10-bit 4:2:2 with full-pixel readout.  The FX3 adds a cooling fan to reduce heat buildup during continuous filming and omits the electronic viewfinder of the A7S III.  The controls of the FX3 are also clearly cinema-centric with direct access to iris, shutter angle, ISO and WB.  There is also a zoom lever and tally light. The FX3's 627-point phase detection autofocus features customizable AF Transition Speed as well as Subject Shit Sensitivity as well as real-time AF tracking.  5-axis in-body stabilization helps create smooth video.  The FX3 has minimized rolling shutter effect at higher frame rates due to faster sensor readout. The incredible sensitivity of the A7S III is shared by the FX3 with a maximum ISO value of 409,600 and reduced noise at higher sensitivities.  When shooting at higher frame rates, the ability to shoot at higher ISO values with little penalty to image quality is a game changer.  Using color correction filters, which often result in a loss of light, while maintaining desired iris and shutter angle settings makes the FX3 ideal as an underwater filmmaking camera for even the most challenging lighting situations.  A visible and IR light sensor improves white balance accuracy. When working with external recorders, the FX3 can output a RAW 16-bit 4K60p signal via the HDMI type-A port.  Internal recording is to dual CFexpress Type A or SDXC/SDHC card slots.   THE NAUTICAM NA-FX3 UNDERWATER HOUSING The Nauticam NA-FX3 underwater housing is designed to deliver an intuitive user experience in a rugged and reliable platform that is supported by the extensive Nauticam lineup of accessories and premium optics. The NA-FX3 is built around the N100 port system that is shared by all full-frame Sony mirrorless systems in the Nauticam lineup, allowing seamless crossover for existing Sony shooters.   CAMERA COMPATIBILITY The NA-FX3 underwater housing is compatible with both the Sony FX3 and the Sony FX30.    MISSION CONTROL The NA-FX3 is designed with our Mission Control philosophy, placing controls where they can be easily accessed with minimal movement.  Within easy reach of the right handle are control dials for Iris, ISO and Shutter Speed.  There is also a dedicated REC button and FOCUS MAG lever.  Stainless steel stabilizing brackets insure the handles remain steady even when using large video lights or other accessories. CONNECTIVITY The NA-FX3 features a an M24 bulkhead which supports the Nauticam HDMI 2.0/1.4 cable system which can be paired with supported external monitors/recorders.  In addition there is an M16 bulkhead which is dedicated for remote control capability using the Sony RM-VPR1 controller (proprietary waterproof cable is required).  On the rear cover there is also an M14 bulkhead which can be fitted with the optional M14 Vacuum Valve II (25624).  The NA-FX3 comes with the Nauticam vacuum check and leak detection system as standard equipment. This monitoring system, when paired with the optional vacuum valve, provides constant updates on the water tight and safe-to-dive status of the housing. PREMIUM PROFESSIONAL OPTICS Optical performance is just as necessary as camera performance and this becomes even more critical given the challenges of filming underwater. The Nauticam NA-FX3 uses the same N100 Port System as other Sony full-frame mirrorless housings which makes for a seamless transition for those upgrading or looking to add an additional camera to their lineup. While this system provides exceptional optical-glass and flat port solutions for a wide variety lenses, the real power can be realized using Nauticam's Water Contact Optics. This lineup of dry and wet lenses are conceived using commercial lens-design software to achieve truly unparalleled underwater image quality both for stills and video in both macro and wide-angle situations. The WACP-1 and WACP-2 achieve ultra-wide 130º fields-of-view with reduced distortion over conventional optics while featuring ~0" minimum focus distances, zoom through capabilities and unbeatable corner sharpness at even wide-open apertures such as F5.6.
