The new T-HOUSING DOME1 for the Insta360 ONE R with 1-inch module raises underwater recording quality to a completely new level that was previously only possible with digital system or SLR cameras in combination with high-priced housings.

On this basis, an underwater housing has been created that not only shines with the quality of the camera, but also with outstanding optical qualities that are unique in this price segment.

What is the issue with a flat front glass in underwater housings?

• It refracts the incoming light rays by about 25 percent. This also increases the focal length accordingly and reduces the angle of view.
• Radial distortions occur. The effect is a blurring that increases from the sharpest point in the centre of the image to the outer edge.
• Chromatic aberrations occur, light rays are refracted unevenly as they pass from the water into the housing, causing the different colours to shift - especially in the outer areas.

The dome aperture of a dome port almost completely eliminates these effects: The angle of view is maintained, the image is not distorted towards the edge and the images are sharp right to the edge.

To make the use of a dome port possible for the Insta360 ONE R 1-inch, a coated correction lens is used. This can be slid down by a handle, enabling sharp shots even above water after surfacing.

The same magnetic sliding system is used for the two integrated colour filters (red and magenta). It has never been so easy to use the colour filters flexibly underwater.

The DOME1 is made of aluminium and "Made in Germany". The dome base is not attached to the housing, but the complete base housing and the dome base consist of only one part, which is milled from a 5kg aluminium block. Each housing is pressure tested to a maximum depth of 80m before delivery.

The DOME1 enables underwater recording quality for which you previously had to invest several thousand euros. Nevertheless, it is light and compact enough to fit in small luggage.

The total weight with camera is about 1150g, whereby it has so much buoyancy underwater that together with the T-HOUSING aluminium dive mount (item no. TH20017901) it only has a slight downward thrust and almost floats in the water.

The DOME1 comes fully equipped with lens and filter system, fully assembled and with a neoprene bag. The standard battery or the larger boosted battery can be used, as a corresponding adapter is included.
