Looking at the specs, the Sony FX3 is strikingly similar to the A7S III less an electronic viewfinder. Take a closer look and its the powerful video features of the A7S III with cinema-centric controls and exterior design. The FX3 can capture 4K at up to 120fps with 15+ stops of dynamic range with the option for RAW over HDMI. Controls are optimized for video with direct iris, ISO and shutter angle control. With the addition of an internal fan, the recording time limit for 4K60p has been removed. The NA-FX3's compact size make it ideal for the traveling filmmaker and those looking for a more nimble underwater System.
THE SONY ALPHA FX3 CINEMA LINE FULL-FRAME CAMERA
Compact cinema cameras are increasingly a popular choice for underwater film making and Sony's FX3 brings the powerful capabilities of the A7S III full-frame mirrorless camera to the form factor. The FX3 is built around the same sensor as the A7S III that allows for capture of up to 4K 120p 10-bit 4:2:2 with full-pixel readout. The FX3 adds a cooling fan to reduce heat buildup during continuous filming and omits the electronic viewfinder of the A7S III. The controls of the FX3 are also clearly cinema-centric with direct access to iris, shutter angle, ISO and WB. There is also a zoom lever and tally light.
The FX3's 627-point phase detection autofocus features customizable AF Transition Speed as well as Subject Shit Sensitivity as well as real-time AF tracking. 5-axis in-body stabilization helps create smooth video. The FX3 has minimized rolling shutter effect at higher frame rates due to faster sensor readout.
The incredible sensitivity of the A7S III is shared by the FX3 with a maximum ISO value of 409,600 and reduced noise at higher sensitivities. When shooting at higher frame rates, the ability to shoot at higher ISO values with little penalty to image quality is a game changer. Using color correction filters, which often result in a loss of light, while maintaining desired iris and shutter angle settings makes the FX3 ideal as an underwater filmmaking camera for even the most challenging lighting situations. A visible and IR light sensor improves white balance accuracy.
When working with external recorders, the FX3 can output a RAW 16-bit 4K60p signal via the HDMI type-A port. Internal recording is to dual CFexpress Type A or SDXC/SDHC card slots.

In addition there is an M16 bulkhead which is dedicated for remote control capability using the Sony RM-VPR1 controller (proprietary waterproof cable is required). On the rear cover there is also an M14 bulkhead which can be fitted with the optional M14 Vacuum Valve II (25624). The NA-FX3 comes with the Nauticam vacuum check and leak detection system as standard equipment. This monitoring system, when paired with the optional vacuum valve, provides constant updates on the water tight and safe-to-dive status of the housing. A simple color coded LED lighting system lets the user know that the vacuum is solid, or that the housing is losing vacuum. Leak detection is built into the same circuit, so if there is water intrusion, an audible and visual indication will occur. The Nauticam system is temperature compensated, eliminating false alarms caused by a change in outside temperature, or from a camera heating up on an action packed dive.
PREMIUM PROFESSIONAL OPTICS
Optical performance is just as necessary as camera performance and this becomes even more critical given the challenges of filming underwater. The Nauticam NA-FX3 uses the same N100 Port System as other Sony full-frame mirrorless housings which makes for a seamless transition for those upgrading or looking to add an additional camera to their lineup. While this system provides exceptional optical-glass and flat port solutions for a wide variety lenses, the real power can be realized using Nauticam's Water Contact Optics. This lineup of dry and wet lenses are conceived using commercial lens-design software to achieve truly unparalleled underwater image quality both for stills and video in both macro and wide-angle situations. The WACP-1 and WACP-2 achieve ultra-wide 130º fields-of-view with reduced distortion over conventional optics while featuring ~0" minimum focus distances, zoom through capabilities and unbeatable corner sharpness at even wide-open apertures such as F5.6.
The ARRI ALEXA 35 sets a new standard for Super 35 digital video cameras, featuring an all-new 4.6K ALEV 4 CMOS sensor, a massive 17 stops of dynamic range and a host of new features that make it the new gold standard for digital cinematography.
The ARRI ALEXA 35 camera
The ALEXA 35 builds on ARRI's already impressive range of cinema cameras and is perfect for underwater production, providing a compact and feature-rich addition to the ARRI camera range. The ALEXA 35 has a robust, compact form factor, similar to the ALEXA Mini, but with features similar to the larger ALEXA camera. To take full advantage of the all-new sensor, ARRI has also developed the all-new REVEAL Color Science. Developed based on feedback from colourists and cinematographers, REVEAL Color Science provides improvements in colour, contrast, sensitivity and dynamic range.
In addition to ARRI's newer LPL (LBUS) mount, which covers ARRI's entire sensor size range with optimised full sensor coverage, the ALEXA 35 can also be used with the PL to LPL Adapter, EF Mount and PL Mount.
The Nauticam underwater housing for the ARRI ALEXA 35
Easy camera installation
The Nauticam system is designed for both owners/operators and landlords and is very easy to set up. With just a pin and an Allen key, the entire mounting and lens control system is set up on the camera base plate outside the housing. This means that the rig can be set up on a table, in good light and with plenty of room to work. Once the camera is mounted on the base plate, the entire system slides into the housing and locks securely into place.
Lens operation
Similar to the ALEXA Mini and Mini LF hoods, the ALEXA 35 hood features an adjustable gear tower that allows you to control focus, iris and zoom via the knobs on the outside of the hood. This diver-controlled device fully meets the needs of a single operator.
For more production-oriented shoots that require remote control, the redesigned Nauticam ALEXA 35 housing features two upper and two lower 15mm rods that allow the use of cforce Plus and cforce mini motors in conjunction with the ARRI Hi-5 handheld unit. Only the upper 15 mm rod is suitable for the larger cforce Plus motors. Unlike the previous generation housings, the motors now drive the lens itself and no longer via the adjustable gear tower. With the standard housing, two motors can be mounted for short primes. If you add the optional 100mm housing extension NA16422, you can mount 3 motors on the 15mm rods, which allows the use of zoom lenses or longer lenses.
The housing also comes with a 3/4′hydroflex bulkhead so that the power, remote control and remote monitoring lines of other Hydroflex rental systems can be used on the Alexa Mini.
A huge range of lenses are supported, from very small standard Zeiss lenses to very large cinema-style zoom lenses. Our port system was tested with the Arri UWZ 9.5-18, the most sophisticated wide-angle lens ever made, and achieved excellent results.

The Nauticam Komodo housing is officially RED APPROVED. The housing is engineered in a similar fashion to previous Epic LT and DSMC2 LT housings, providing the most compact and travel friendly system possible. Komodo offers seamless integration with DSLR lenses and the same N120 port system used in Nauticam DSLR and Cinema systems. Enjoy unmatched user friendly setup and intuitive operation including tool-less setup and tear down in minutes. Batteries can be swapped without ever removing the camera from the housing, and lens changes can be accomplished in seconds.
The Nauticam Komodo housing uses the N120 Cinema port system, shared with Nauticam's other N120 platform cameras which allows for easy transition to the Nauticam Komodo from other N120 Nauticam systems. The N120 system also provides access to Nauticam's line of professional premium optics such as the WACP-1/2 and SMC-1/2.
The housing also features adjustable handles with easy access to the cinema style zoom and focus knobs. On top of the housing is a 1/4"-20 cheese plate which allows for a wide variety of accessory mounting Points.
LENS SUPPORT
The Komodo features a Canon RF lens mount, but currently RED is only offering support of Canon EF lenses. The Nauticam Komodo housing offers full support of the Canon EF to EOS R Adaptor along with the Canon EF to EOS R Adaptor with Variable ND Filter. The left side of the housing features an easily accessible command wheel for smooth ND changes. Once RED releases RF lens support, the Nauticam Komodo housing will be ready and fully compatible. Regardless of EF or RF lens selection, changing lenses is quick, easy and doesn't require any tools. Note that when changing between RF and EF lenses, the camera must be removed from the housing to remove or install the RF to EF adapter. Nauticam is constantly testing new lenses to provide optimized port and extension combinations. Large cinema-styled control wheels on the housing, located within easy reach of the handles, provide precise manual focus and zoom control with supported lenses when used with the corresponding lens gear set.
Not being limited to using DSLR lenses is crucial for cinema systems and the Nauticam Komodo housing, when used with the 16410 N120 to N200 Port Adapter can support the use of Cinema Lenses and the associated N200 Port System. Installation is quick, easy and requires no tools allowing seamless lens switching in the field - even when changing between DSLR and Cinema lenses.
INTERNAL MONITOR SUPPORT
The Komodo has a built-in monitor on top of the camera. The Nauticam Komodo does feature a large window for using the Komodo's built in monitor to be used for an extremely streamlined solution. If an additional monitoring options in requires, the Atomos Ninja V monitor is an ideal lightweight monitoring solution for the RED Komodo. The Ninja V Monitor Back option Komodo Housing supports the use of the Atomos Ninja V monitor inside rear of the housing allowing the monitor to be viewed by the camera operator from a natural filming position. The monitor back features control buttons for the on-screen buttons of the Shinobi.
EXTERNAL MONITOR SUPPORT
The Atomos Shinobi SDI monitor can also be mounted in the external Nauticam NA-Shinobi-S housing and connected via SDI bulkheads and cables allowing greater flexibility when positioning the monitor on the Nauticam Komodo housing.

VACUUM CHECK AND LEAK DETECTION SYSTEM
The Nauticam Komodo housing features Nauticam's field-tested Vacuum Check and Leak Detection System that provides constant updates on the water tight and safe-to-dive status of the housing. By drawing a slight vacuum inside the housing using a reliable and compact manual hand-pump, the system is able to insure water-tightness before entering the water as well as throughout the dive. A simple color-coded LED lighting system, easily visible at the rear of the housing lets the user know that the vacuum is solid, or that the housing is losing vacuum. Leak detection is built into the same circuit, so if there is water intrusion, an audible and visual indication will occur. The Nauticam system is temperature compensated, eliminating false alarms caused by a change in outside temperature, or from a camera heating up on an action packed dive.

THE NAUTICAM NA-E2F HOUSING
The NA-E2F follows suit with the original NA-E2 as one of the lightest and smallest raw-capable cinema housings ever produced. Nauticam has been a leader in cinema housings with offerings for RED, ARRI, Canon, PhantomFlex, Sony and now Z Cam.
The NA-E2F uses the N120 Cinema port system, shared with Nauticam's other N120 platform cameras which allows for easy transition to the NA-E2F from other N120 Nauticam systems. The N120 system also provides access to Nauticam's line of professional premium optics such as the WACP-1/2 and SMC-1/2.
The Z Cam E2-M4 can be used with either the Z Cam EF Mount or using the native MFT mount with Metabones EF-MFT Speed Booster Ultra 0.71x Adaptor. When using the Metabones Speed Booster, the mounting position of the camera tray must be adjusted by the user.
There are 17 LANC control buttons ergonomically placed around the housing including dedicated iris+/iris-, record, focus near/focus far, eND+/eND-, and many more. 1/4"-20 size mounting threads are located on the top and bottom of the housing for easy mounting of cinema accessories.
The NA-E2F supports an ethernet surface feed in 5m (pole cam) and 45m (studio) lengths. The Z Cam E2 lineup offers a wide range of remote control options including live preview over ethernet. This opens up the option of using an ethernet to lighting adaptor, then having an iPad or iPhone on the surface to allow monitoring and full control via the Z Cam app.
The housing also features adjustable handles with cinema style zoom and focus knobs.
The E2 lineup supports Sony NP-F series batteries and the NA-E2F matches this compatibility up to and including the FP-970.
As with the NA-BMPCC2 and NA-E2, the NA-E2F allows for the internal mounting of a Samsung T-5 SSD drive as recording media making the transition from capture to edit seamless.
The Z Cam E2 lineup requires an external monitor and Nauticam produces several options for both SmallHD and Atomos monitors. To access the 12-Bit ProRes RAW Recording, you will need to use the Atomos Ninja V monitor with the Nauticam Ninja V housing. The NA-E2F features both an M28 and four M16 bulkheads supporting both HDMI 2.0 (M28) and HDMI 1.4 (M16) connections.
