This item is discontinued. Please find accessories and technical data here.

Product number: NA17716
HAN: NA-GX9

Nauticam has long supported the Panasonic Micro-Four-Thirds product line and the NA-GX9 utilises all this experience to produce the best underwater gear for this latest upgrade to the GX range.

Pop-up flash support

With the addition of a built-in or pop-up flash, the GX9 enables TTL control of supported external flashes via fibre optic cable. The housing has built-in Sea&Sea-style connectors that can be used with our universal fibre optic cables.

These "wet" connectors mean that no flooded flash ports are possible.

Electronic viewfinder

To take full advantage of the GX9's updated 2.76 M-Dot LCoS electronic viewfinder, the NA-GX9 body supports the mirrorless versions of the Nauticam 45º and 180º enlarging viewfinders, which are designed to be installed in less than a minute without tools.

Drop-in design

With the drop-in design, the GX9 is securely attached to a camera plate via a ridged thumbscrew, allowing for easy, tool-free installation. The plate slides into the housing and locks to ensure correct alignment of the control. There is also no need to pre-set any controls on the housing, making installation and removal quick and easy. The pop-up flash can be opened and closed from outside the housing.

An angled M16 connection

A specially angled M16 connection on the front of the housing has been specially developed for videographers. This angled connection can be fitted with a standard HDMI connector without extension to enable the use of external monitors such as the SmallHD.

Adjustable lenses

The NA-GX9 can take full advantage of the Nauticam WWL-1 and CMC/SMC attachment lenses when used with supported lenses and ports. The WWL-1 offers a zoom of 130º wide angle and the ability to focus on the front element of the lens. The CMC/SMC product range offers a variety of medium to large measurement ranges.

A variety of mounting options are available for the attachment lenses. For the macro enthusiast, single or dual lens flip adapters are available, allowing quick switching between lenses underwater without the risk of misalignment or losing a lens from the jacket pocket when not in use.

INTEGRATED VACUUM PRESSURE AND LEAK DETECTION SYSTEM

The NA-GX9 is equipped with the pre-installed electronics of Nauticam's signature vacuum and leak detection system.

With the addition of a vacuum valve, the system is ready to provide constant feedback on the watertightness of the system via a large multi-colour LED on the back of the housing.

FLEXI/EASITRAY COMPATIBILITY

The NA-GX9 is designed to be used without additional handles or trays, but is fully compatible with the Easitray and Flexitray systems.

The housing is supplied with the required stainless steel bracing brackets and an extension for the optional rail systems.

M14 Vacuum Valve II
Installing vacuum valve to housing Remove the plug of the M14 accessory port from the housing. Remove the cap from the vacuum valve. Tighten the vacuum valve to the housing with the tool provided. Building up vacuum Remove the cap of the vacuum valve. Connect the hand pump to the valve and pump several times until it reaches the target vacuum level. The LED light will turn flashing yellow while vacuum is building up, then steady green when the target vacuum level is reached. Attention: After the target vacuum is reached, i.e. steady green light, attach the cap back to the vacuum valve. It is recommended to leave the housing for at least 20mins to ensure it is sealed. If the LED light changes from steady green light to rapidly flashing yellow light, that means there is a leakage and please check every O-ring and conduct the vacuum test again. Please ensure that the cap is attached back to the vacuum valve before going underwater. Vacuum can be released by pushing the red release button. Attention: Please DO NOT attempt to go over the designated vacuum level, i.e. stop pumping when the LED turn green. Excessive vacuum level may lead to the malfunction of the camera and lens. Note: Although the vacuum indicator is designated to compensate for a certain amount of temperature variation, it is recommended to conduct the vacuum test in an environment where the temperature is stable. After set up, the meaning of the LED indicator in the housing: Flashing “Blue” light: Standby mode. The moisture alarm is active, and the system is ready for vacuum indication whenever a vacuum is detected. Flashing “Red” light with beeping sound:Moisture is detected. Flashing “Yellow” light: Some vacuum is detected, target vacuum level is not reached. Steady “Green” light: Target vacuum level is reached. Rapidly flashing “Yellow” light: Vacuum is dropping. (Will occur only after target vacuum level is reached) Rapidly flashing “Red” light: Vacuum is totally lost. Circuit stalled until switched off. (Will occur only after target vacuum level is reached)
