Wide angle or macro
The RX100 housings feature an industry-standard 67mm port thread, making it easy to attach a range of different attachment lenses.
The 24-70mm lens Sony has installed in this camera allows underwater photographers to get closer to their subject. Getting closer means less water and fewer particles between the subject and the camera, resulting in more colourful images.
On the macro lens, Sony has installed a lens that allows the underwater photographer to get closer to the subject.
On the macro side, the Nauticam Super Macro Converter 1 (SMC) is the ideal choice and allows you to fill the image with a 2.5cm "large" subject. This is üover 4 times the enlargement achieved by the series lens (series lenses 160 mm wide, SMC 38 mm wide).
Nauticam vacuum control system
In a Houdini worthy achievement, Nauticam engineers managed to incorporate Nauticam's vacuumümonitoring and leak detection electronics. As standard, it serves as an acoustic and visual leak detector, but with a Nauticam M14 vacuum valve it becomes a vacuum control system. The vacuum monitoring system provides early warning of any problem with waterproof integrity - meaning safety when photographing and filming underwater.
Video
The video is also updated with the " III ". The camera now supports XAVC S at up to 50 Mbps and HD at 60p. More importantly, the RX100III does away with "line skipping" and samples the entire sensor before downsizing to the recorded resolution. The results are very impressive. In the comparisons published on DPReview.com, the video image"s from the RX100III clearly lays down and shows less moir" than cameras such as the Nikon D610 and even the Sony A7.
The standard NA-RX100III supports HDMI üvia an optional HDMI connector attached to the M16 accessory on the front of the housing. This means that the underwater videographer can use the Atomos Ninja 2 recorder (NA-NINJA2 housing, NA17902). The Ninja can record high-quality ProRes HD video at around 220 Mbps, which is made possible by the "clean" HDMI output option in the camera.
