The GFX, Fujifilm’s mirrorless digital camera system, has achieved the highest level of image quality in the world of professional photography. The GFX100 uses a 55mm diagonal length large format CMOS sensor with over 100 million pixels which makes this the highest class resolution mirrorless digital camera ever produced. The Nauticam NA-GFX100 and the N120 Port System supports the dedicated lineup of GF lenses.

THE NA-GFX100 NAUTICAM UNDERWATER HOUSING

Nauticam has produced housings for a variety of both medium format and mirrorless housings. The NA-GFX100 takes all that experience and produces the most ergonomic housing available for a mirrorless digital medium format camera. Nauticam has continued to offer unencumbered access to the essential controls that underwater photographers need.

The GFX 100 has 15 customizable buttons. The camera's "Q" menu can also be customized to accommodate most-used menu items. The "Q" menu is easily accessed by the double thumb-lever on the right hand side which also accesses the "AF-ON" button critical for back button focus. The left hand double thumb lever accesses the "PLAY" and "DISP/BACK" functions.

The directional keys on the right hand side engage the joystick to easily change the focus points. The GFX 100 has a total of 3.76 million phase detection auto focus points. Above the directional keys is a rotating lever which allows you to quickly change the focus mode.

FLASH TRIGGERING

Flash triggering is performed via built-in fiber optic bulkheads using the Fujifilm EF-X20 TTL flash which fits into the housing when mounted on the hot-shoe. Flash EV can be controlled via a dial atop the housing and status can be seen through dedicated viewports. The flash can be turned on and off via a lever on the left side of the housing.

PREMIUM PROFESSIONAL OPTICS

The GFX 100 uses a new lineup of dedicated lenses with the moniker GF. The Nauticam N120 Port Systems supports many of those currently available including ultra-wide primes, zooms, and macro lenses.

VIEWFINDERS

The standard optical glass viewfinder is very good and travel friendly, but many photographers prefer the ease of a magnified viewfinder with adjustable diopter. Nauticam produces a ?straight? 180º enlarging viewfinder and a 45º angled enlarging viewfinder to enhance the ease of close quarters work often associated with macro shooting. Both viewfinders have high quality optics, and allow bright viewing of the entire image. A patented external dioptric adjustment allows personal adjustment to a sharp-as-a-tack standard underwater and viewfinder changes can be executed in less than 30 seconds without using tools. Exceptional composition and focus accuracy have never been more accessible.

INTEGRATED VACUUM CHECK AND LEAK DETECTION SYSTEM

The Nauticam vacuum check and leak detection system is shipped with NA-GFX50S as standard equipment. Combined with an accessory vacuum valve this monitoring system provides constant updates on the water tight and safe-to-dive status of the housing. A simple color coded LED lighting system lets the user know that the vacuum is solid, or that the housing is losing vacuum. Leak detection is built into the same circuit, so if there is water intrusion, an audible and visual indication will occur.

The Nauticam system is temperature compensated, eliminating false alarms caused by a change in outside temperature, or from a camera heating up on an action packed dive.

M16 Vacuum Valve II
Installing vacuum valve to housing Remove the plug of the M16 accessory port from the housing. Remove the cap from the vacuum valve. Tighten the vacuum valve to the housing with the tool provided.   Building up vacuum Remove the cap of the vacuum valve. Connect the hand pump to the valve and pump several times until it reaches the target vacuum level. The LED light will turn flashing yellow while vacuum is building up, then steady green when the target vacuum level is reached. Attention: After the target vacuum is reached, i.e. steady green light, attach the cap back to the vacuum valve. It is recommended to leave the housing for at least 20mins to ensure it is sealed. If the LED light changes from steady green light to rapidly flashing yellow light, that means there is a leakage and please check every O-ring and conduct the vacuum test again. Please ensure that the cap is attached back to the vacuum valve before going underwater. Vacuum can be released by pushing the red release button. Attention: Please DO NOT attempt to go over the designated vacuum level, i.e. stop pumping when the LED turn green. Excessive vacuum level may lead to the malfunction of the camera and lens. Note: Although the vacuum indicator is designated to compensate for a certain amount of temperature variation, it is recommended to conduct the vacuum test in an environment where the temperature is stable.   After set up, the meaning of the LED indicator in the housing: Flashing “Blue” light: Standby mode. The moisture alarm is active, and the system is ready for vacuum indication whenever a vacuum is detected. Flashing “Red” light with beeping sound:Moisture is detected. Flashing “Yellow” light: Some vacuum is detected, target vacuum level is not reached. Steady “Green” light: Target vacuum level is reached. Rapidly flashing “Yellow” light: Vacuum is dropping. (Will occur only after target vacuum level is reached) Rapidly flashing “Red” light: Vacuum is totally lost. Circuit stalled until switched off. (Will occur only after target vacuum level is reached)

45° viewfinder for Nauticam SLR housing
Nauticam's improved 45°angle viewfinder is the perfect complement to your housing, providing a bright, clear and undistorted 1:1 image of the camera's viewfinder, as well as a 45°viewing angle. The viewfinder can be rotated to any angle, which is important when shooting in a vertical orientation. The 45º viewfinder also provides more clearance for your regulator, allowing for a more comfortable viewing position. Introducing the NAUTICAM 45° VIEWFINDER . Long- or short-sightedness? The viewfinder features an external knob for vision compensation; easy diopter adjustment can now be made underwater without disassembling the viewfinder . Proven design The body is made of anodised aluminium and all lens elements and prisms in the viewfinder are precision ground and multi-layer coated to ensure optimum light transmission and no distortion . INSTALLING THE SEARCHER . With Nauticam housings, it is easy to switch between the standard 0.66x and Enhanced 45° viewfinder, in most cases without tools or adapters. With optional adapter kits, it can also be adapted to the housings of Ikelite, Aquatica, Sea & Sea and Nexus. Note: Because some newer camera models have higher magnifications and a decreasing eye point, there may be a slight reduction in view from edge to edge when using a Nauticam magnification viewfinder. The extent varies, but the benefits of the magnification viewfinder remain.
