Optoelectronic TTL converter for the modern generation of Sea&Sea housings for Nikon, including the latest D850, etc. All Nikon cameras are compatible, regardless of model and TTL protocol version.

TTL board supports 2 optical ports + 2 electrical jacks can be connected. The standard kit contains optical LED emitters with adapters made of transparent plastic (2 pcs.). The electrical cable/connector (1 or 2 pcs.) for connection to the Nikonos V-box is an optional product that must be purchased separately (please specify when ordering).

 TTL and HSS on the RetraFlash

The fantastic TTL accuracy allows the photographer to relax and rely entirely on automatic flash exposure control. Many creative tasks are made possible by using extremely fast HSS shutter speeds of up to 1/8000 with the Retra Pro flash in manual mode. The TTL converter firmware also has some other important updates related to its common functionality.

  • The Retra PRO profile can be set by the user üvia the TTL converter's built-in rotary switch.

  • The TTL/M modes can be switched underwater simply by using the camera name or the flash button.
  • In manual mode, the flash intensity can be adjusted manually üvia the camera wheel/scale, but also üvia the flash control knob.
  • (+/-) TTL flash compensation is supported by the firmware, the full range is available via the camera control in the range -3ev......+3ev.
  • The firmware supports sync settings for the 1-st /2-nd curtain and the rear curtain.
  • Continuous (serial) recording is supported.
  • The HSS firmware of the TTL converter supports the HSS functionality of the Retra Pro flash. The built-in rotary switch must be set to the Retra Pro profile (position - "7"). Available HSS shutter speeds for Sony A7-A9: 1/320 ....1/8000 sec. The Retra flash allows the HSS flash intensity to be adjusted with the rotary knob.
  • In the updated firmware, switching to HSS shutter speeds is also included in the general functionality of the TTL converter (also for all other positions of the rotary switch), - usable for shooting with ambient light at high shutter speeds if required. However, the X-Sync speed limit (1/250 for Sony A7-A9) is still automatically supported for TTL modes, as required for mono flash TTL underwater flash.

Nikon D500 Underwater Housing by Sea&Sea
Much lighter than the previous models. The dimensions are almost identical to those of the MDX-D810. However, the MDX-D500 is about 400g lighter than the MDX-D810. The underwater weight has improved due to a more präcise processing method.. Easy operation. Important controls such as Info, ISO and FN have been positioned on the right and left sides of the housing for easy access while holding the handles. The reproduction and enlargement of the focal point can be achieved with a lever action. Quick-lock function for the AF lock lever. In AF mode, the AF lock lever can be easily activated so that the focus lock can be activated by pressing only one lever. Compatible with VF180 1.2x and VF45 1.2x viewfinders. By attaching the VF180 or the VF45 prism viewfinder (magnification ratio of 1.2x) to the housing, the magnification increases by 1.2x and the entire field of view is visible at the same time. State-of-the-art housing for the full-frame mirrorless Nikon Z7/Z6 camera. Compact, compatible with the Optical YS Converter and ergonomically designed. Compact design Taking advantage of the Z7/6 camera’s compact design and light weight, the housings has been designed accordingly to enhance these features. Compared to SLR MDX-850 camera housing, the MDX-Z7/6 is 100g/3.5oz lighter in weight on land. Weight: MDX-Z7 2700g/95.2oz (on land), MDX-D850 2800g/98.8oz (on land). Ports and gears for the MDX series SLR housings can be used. The MDX-Z7/6 is compatible with the system chart for the MDX series SLR housings. You can utilize F-mount lenses with the mount adapter FTZ and ports/gears for the MDX series housings. Compatible with Optical YS Converter/N1. TTL strobe photography possible. Using unprecedented precision machining, the dimensions of the housing are similar to those of the camera. In addition, the revised internal design has also helped reduce weight. The MDX-D850 is approximately 11% (350g/12.3oz) lighter than the previous MDX-D810 housing.
