Its built-in optically designed dome lens offering both high power and wide 110 degree coverage underwater without any diffuser which can sacrifice power. Dome Lens Provides Both Powerful Light and Underwater 110 degree Coverage

Yet lightweight and compact body, the Z-330 is designed to produce powerful G.N. 33 (*1). Precisely designed front dome lens (*2) together with INON's unique patented "T-shape Twin Flash" successfully manages both powerful strobe light without sacrifice any power and circular 110 degree coverage UNDERWATER.

Not as like a conventional translucent diffuser which can widen coverage while it has to sacrifice power and store heat inside, this specially designed dome lens diffuses light thanks to reflection ratio of air, acrylic and water to attain UNDERWATER coverage 110 degree with almost all powerful output coming through.

Furthermore, the Z-330 has overcame drawback of high-power strobe which has long flash duration and reaches to FULL power after start flashing in significantly short period of time.

Together with flashing system in sync with pre-flash and main flash of camera’s built-in flash, the Z-330 can deliver full dump even at 1/1000 high shutter speed setting without cutting power

S-TTL Auto /13 Steps Manual Flash Mode

Proven and reliable INON's unique super accurate auto exposure system "S-TTL" Auto mode (patented) is onboard to support easy and solid underwater shooting with appropriate exposure.

In addition, optimized high performance slave sensor never miss camera's trigger signal even with faint signal or partially damaged fiber optics cable can still trigger the strobe not to bother you with unstable flashing.

Precise 1/2EV. increment 13 steps Manual flash control is onboard as well to support professional use where fine power adjustment is required to provide highly accurate lighting.

EV. Controller to Adjust Exposure of S-TTL Auto

It is simple to fine-tune flash power in S-TTL Auto by dialing the EV. Control Switch on the back control panel. Adjustable range is 3 steps to increase and 6 steps to decrease. It is easy and simple to suit to your intended exposure or different exposure control characteristics among camera models.

Bundled "Strobe Light Shade" to Prevent Shining Camera Lens

The "Strobe Light Shade" is bundled as standard accessory to cut a part of strobe light to benefit to dramatically suppress flare or ghost by not shining camera lens directly and backscatter when a strobe is positioned to vicinity or ahead of lens port by blocking light between lens port and subject not to shine suspended particles.

220 lumen, Shutter Linked Auto OFF Focus Light

The built-in "Shutter-linked Auto-Off Focus Light" delivers 220lm brightness to support when focusing a subject and cease in synch with the shutter release then automatically turns ON again.

To aim optical axis of the Focus Light in line with strobe light’s optical axis, the Focus Light has a fresnel lens in front supporting more accurate strobe aiming and improved usability as an aiming light.

Conspicuous Phosphorescence Back Panel - Improved Intuitive Control Dials

Using white base high-intensity phosphorescence material for the back panel to improve visibility both during day and night dive.

Also control dials are enlarged for user-friendly controllability even through thick gloves during cold water diving. The "EV. Control Switch" stops at minimum and maximum power setting telling you current switch position without seeing the switch itself.

Radiation System to Release Generated Heat Inside

The Z-330 strobe is equipped with circular metal heatsink carrying high thermal conductivity around light emitting area. The heatsink is directly connected to inner circuit component to release generated heat from strobe usage effectively.

Improved heat tolerance has resolved heat problem typically accompanied with powerful strobe. No stress with sudden stop of flashing to cool down.

Minimum Recycle Time "approx. 1.6 sec." at Full Flash

Minimum recycle time at full flash (how fast the strobe ready lamp shines and the strobe is ready after making full flash) is approx. 1.6 sec.(*3) achieving fast recycle time even delivers powerful light.

Wide Variety of Dome Filters

The Z-330 strobe has a bayonet system to hold a strobe dome filter to attach/remove easily.

Besides bundled "Strobe Dome Filter SOFT" to protect dome lens surface and soften strobe light, optional "Strobe Dome Filter ND" which steps down at -4EV, "Strobe Dome Filter [4600K]" which changes native color temperature to 4600K and "Strobe Dome Filter [4900K]" which changes to 4900K will be available in 2018.

Both Optical/Electrical Trigger Supported

Optical connection system widely supports from underwater housings for compact digital cameras to a digital SLR housings with built-in flash or SLRs housing with built-in LED trigger circuitry regardless of make or model. The strobe is equipped with Nikonos 5 pin type cable compatible sync connector to shoot in TTL Auto mode with a film camera or in Manual mode for a digital SLR housing with a bulk head (*4).

On-board Wireless TTL

The high sensitive slave sensor enables wireless S-TTL Auto mode using a mirror instead of an optical cable. Attaching optional Wireless Connection Kit on the Z-330 and combined with an underwater housing via Shoe Base Set or Grip Base D4 Set creates a handy S-TTL Auto shooting set.

Integral Pre-flash Mode Detecting Function

Fully compatible with a camera which alters number of pre-flash between once or twice making total flashes twice or three times depending on shooting condition. Direct Base III
The Direct Base III is a fundamental part to attach arm system. Directly attached on the Grip Base D4 / Grip Base M1 / D Holder / SD Front Mask for HERO5/6/7 / Weight Plate or via optional M6 Plate Direct Base III or M5 Plate Direct Base III on a housing or other base products. YS-D3 MKII Underwater Strobe by Sea&Sea
NEW, YS-D3 MKII MODEL Sea&Sea has now updated its flagship YS-D3 strobe to the YS-D3MKII. The new updates enhance TTL shooting and third-party optical converter compatibility while still retaining all the great features, such as a 33 Guide Number, wide Beam Angle and broad flash distribution of the original D3 The new MKII model will be a “running change” update, that is, the product number (#03123), will remain the same. Features of the YS-D3MKII model Newly developed software enables compatibility with existing and previous Sea&Sea optical converters. TTL shooting with the YS-D3MKII can now be enjoyed using the YS-D2 position on the S&S optical converter. A newly designed circuit improves the accuracy of TTL light intensity with compact cameras and also provides greater compatibility with third-party Optical TTL converters. The design of the light intensity adjustment dial and mode switch has been revised for better useability in all diving environments.  The difference can be easily recognized from the outside by the MKII label on the side of the unit and the new control knobs on the rear. High Performance U/W-Strobe Newly designed circuitry and light-emitting unit produces powerful guide number of 33. However, this GN 33 value is based on a beam angle of 60~70 degrees. The beam angle may be expanded in water by a dome effect, however the GN in water is significantly lower than the value measured on land.  Note: A land-based strobe that uses the same four AA batteries as the YS-D3 may provide a notation that the GN is 60, but these measurements are taken under the condition that the focal length is equivalent to 200 mm (= beam angle 12 °). When the beam angle becomes narrower, the brightness of the illuminated area increases due to the light-collecting effect.
