Converts the Canon EOS R's TTL signal to a light signal. Therefore, strobes can be fired as quickly as the strobes' recycle time.
Compatilbe strobes: YS-D3 MKII, YS-D3, YS-D2 and YS-D1.
Mechanical specifications are the same as other Optical YS Converters.

Sea&Sea has now released firmware for updating existing S&S Optical Converts already in the field to enable YS-D3 compatibility.
In order to update existing S&S Optical Converters, please contact your local Sea&Sea Dealer or Sea&Sea Distributor.
Please note that the YS-110α position is utilized on existing Optical Converters for YS-D3 functioning.
The following Optical Converters, shipping from October 2020, are updated for D3 compatibility. Updated Optical Converters are distinguished by a “D3” position.
Note: After completing the update on existing units in the field and all Optical converters shipping after October 2020 will not be compatible with the YS-110αstrobes.

Canon EOS R Underwater housing by Sea&Sea
Most modern Sea&sea underwater housing MDX-R for mirrorless full-frame camera Canon EOS R. Compact, compatible with YS optical converter and ergonomically designed.
The Port Lock prevents the port from rotating or loosening, and the Port Lock lever is specially positioned to prevent accidental unlocking.
The housing is equipped with a lens release button that allows for easy lens changes without having to öopen the housing.
Pulling out the focus/zoom wheel provides enough space inside the housing to easily accommodate larger diameter lenses.
All controls have luminescent decals that glow in dark environments.
Fitted with the 0.5x optical viewfinder as standard. Other optional viewfinders such as the 0.66x and 0.8x optical viewfinders can be used.
When the VF45 and VF180 1.2x are mounted on the housing, the corners of the camera's viewfinder cannot be viewed due to vignetting.
The 2-pin sync cable connector allows the use of a conventional hard-wired sync cable (only in manual mode).
Equipped with two sacrificial zinc diodes (one on the front and the other on the Rück side) to prevent electrolytic damage.
Equipped with an underbody protector to protect against scratches.
Designed to be compact and lightweight.
The housingsäuse been developed according to the advantages of the compact design and light weight of the mirrorless camera to improve these characteristics. Compared to the SLR MDX-5D Mark lV camera body, the MDX-R is 100g/ lighter on land.
Connectors and gears for the MDX series SLR housings can be used.
The MDX-R is compatible with the MDX series SLR housing port system. With the mounting adapter and ports/gears for the MDX series housings, you can use EF lenses.

The new optional YS optical converter C/R*, which converts the camera's TTL signal into an LED light signal, is available. With the converter, both TTL and manual exposure adjustment is possible.

TTL and HSS on the RetraFlash
Fantastic TTL accuracy allows the photographer to relax and rely entirely on automatic flash exposure control. Many creative tasks are made possible by using extremely fast HSS shutter speeds of up to 1/8000 with the Retra Pro flash in manual mode. The TTL converter firmware also has several other important updates related to its common functionality.
The Retra PRO profile can be set by the user üvia the TTL converter's built-in rotary switch.
The TTL/M modes can be switched underwater simply by using the camera name or the flash button.
In manual mode, the flash intensity can be adjusted manually üvia the camera wheel/scale, but also üvia the flash control knob.
(+/-) TTL flash compensation is supported by the firmware, the full range is available via the camera control in the range -3ev......+3ev.
The firmware supports sync settings for the 1-st /2-nd curtain and the rear curtain.
Continuous (serial) recording is supported.
The HSS firmware of the TTL converter supports the HSS functionality of the Retra Pro flash. The built-in rotary switch must be set to the Retra Pro profile (position - "7"). Available HSS shutter speeds for Sony A7-A9: 1/320 ....1/8000 sec. The Retra flash allows the HSS flash intensity to be adjusted with the rotary knob.
In the updated firmware, switching to HSS shutter speeds is also included in the general functionality of the TTL converter (also for all other positions of the rotary switch), - usable for shooting with ambient light at high shutter speeds if required. However, the X-Sync speed limit (1/250 for Sony A7-A9) is still automatically supported for TTL modes, as required for mono flash TTL underwater flash.
Incredibly long battery life in the TTL converter: 1-3 years of continuous operation. The product has extremely low power consumption.
The converter features an automatic on/off switching module that saves battery power. No mechanical switch is required to switch UW Technics TTL converters on and off.
The TTL converter firmware includes TTL profiles for the following underwater flashes: Retra Pro, Inon Z-330/ Z-240/S-2000, Sea&Sea YS-D2/ YS-D1/ YS-250, Ikelite DS-161/ DS-160 and Subtronic Pro-270/Pro-160. Each profile can be easily set by the user via an onboard switch.

The e-TURTLE SMART is a state-of-the-art, user-friendly TTL converter that can be set up by the user via the USB port for flash characteristics, camera type and some special function parameters.
